Hello all,
I just create Sharepoint List and then Customize in PowerApps thing to edit the form. It looks ok at start, but then I want to add New Column in my list. So after add it, then come back to PowerApps, this new field never appear in Form/Datacard list.
I've tried to Refresh the Sharepoint data connection to no avail. Even once tried to delete the connection and add it again which result the connection is break and the form looks lost data source and cannot add that newly added. I had to restore back the apps so it will link again.
I noticed many same issue since years about this, but haven't got any straight way to resolved it. Any advice how get that new field in PowerApps ?
Thanks,
After trying the various suggestions here I accidentally found a very kludgy solution.
1. I added the field in my Sharepoint list.
2. Refreshed my data source in Powerapps
3. Saved my work (!)
4. Then I changed the data source to something else. It warned that it would replace all my data cards. Gulp. There goes my careful formatting. Accept and continue. Don't save!
5. Change the data source back to your original, accept the warning and continue. You'll see that any custom formatting you had done is now gone. Don't save!
6. Then exit your app. DO NOT SAVE IT.
7. Re-open it, which will retrieve your last saved version, but with the new fields available.
Somehow this seems par for the course for a Microsoft product.
I want to do almost similar but I don't want to add column from backend I want to make an app such that the user will itself click on some button or something else such that a new field/column gets added as it is in the form(not in gallery) and we can edit in it and make it save in the database how can I do that. Any idea on that
Refresh your SharePoint connection in Power apps. Then select your form, then select the edit field. Search and add all the columns you created.
If others run across this post and are trying to add a SharePoint lookup column that is not an image type, but still won't show as available in Power Apps, see if the field your lookup is connecting to is "Title (linked to item)" in the "In this column" drop-down for the field configuration. In my experience, those will not show as available in Power Apps. Changing that drop-down value to simply "Title" and then refreshing the data source in Power Apps should make those lookup fields available.
You can now also use the Image column type in SharePoint online as Power apps will soon support the image column type from SharePoint Online/Microsoft Lists.
Check more information in this article: Power Apps can now display images from SharePoint Online/Microsoft Lists

Unfortunately yes, it is due to the new column type image. See discsussion here: https://powerusers.microsoft.com/t5/Building-Power-Apps/How-do-I-display-an-image-column-from-my-SharePoint-list/td-p/719414
Hopefully we'll get clarification soon of whether this is a bug or just unsupported.
It turned out, it is because the field is image. I added new column again, but this time is a Single text, and it appeared after I refreshed.
So is it an exclusion ?
Thanks,
I've decided to delete the form and re-create it. However, surprisingly, that new field still not listed. Is it related to the fact that this new field is an image type?
Thanks,
Still no luck. Even after I clear (Delete) the browser cache.
Btw for PowerApps create from Sharepoint, where can we find it inside PowerApps it self ?
I checked in Solution > Default Solution, but cannot find it. Since as you're mentioned Save and Open again, I don't know from where instead from Sharepoint->to my List -> edit one of the record then click the Customize in PowerApps menu.
Thanks
