Autonumber with dynamic prefix and sequense

Hi all,

I have an Employee Table and in this table I need to generate the Employee ID base on Employee type, for example : Domestic employee will start with D and 4 digits; International will start with I and 4 digits.

Employee ID	Employee Type	Employee Name
D-0001	Domestic	David
D-0002	Domestic	John
I-0001	International	Frank
I-0002	International	Paul

I tried to use the auto number but it can only go with the fixed prefix and the sequence is not independent for each prefix!

Is there any way to solve this out!

Hi @lac ,

You can have a configuration entity/table set up that tracks number in each type.
Then your Employee ID field will generate ID based on getting data from plugin and save in the record itself.

Plugins is the simpler way to ensure Employee ID is filled even if data is imported in system.
