[CoE Starter Kit] - In App Catalog

Does anyone know of a way to set the In App Catalog status as true for all the PowerApps. If a customer installs the CoE and runs it then there will not be any PowerApps showing in the App Catalog PowerApp. If the customer has over 2000 apps they are not going to want to manually go through each one to turn that status on.

I have the same question (0)

    Hi @Rebecca-MSFT ,

There is a field on the PowerApps App entity called “In App Catalog”, which is a two-option set type field (aka Boolean). If the value is set to “Yes”, the app will show up in the catalog.

    Best regards,

    Sik

This I understand but is there an automated way to change that field on over 2000 PowerApps.

There is no way in the CoE Kit to set this property to true for all apps; what we see with most customers is that they have demo and test apps that aren't shared or used and that they wouldn't want displayed in the App Catalog, so they would usually want to follow an audit process to highlight apps in the App Catalog. If the process implemented as part of the CoE isn't suitable, we would recommend implementing one that suits your organization needs rather than choosing to highlight all apps in the app catalog.

If you still want to go ahead and highlight all apps in the App Catalog, you could use the "Edit data in Excel" functionality on the entity - if you navigate to Solutions --> Centre of Excellence --> PowerApps App and select "Edit data in Excel", find the column "In App Catalog" and set the value to Yes and drag this value down for all rows and then Publish the data.
