I have 2 environments:-

1) Dev

2) PROD

last week when i want to export a solution from our Dev environment as managed solution, i had the option to remove the current value of the environment variables from the solution before doing the export, as follow:-

so when i import the solution inside another environment, i will be prompted to change those environment variables to match the destination environment setting. but today i added a new environment variable, and i did not get this option, instead i got this toggle..

so what is going on? and how we can remove the current value of an environment variable inside a solution before exporting the solution?

You can select the Site and List variables and hi delete button then it should prompt new values when you deploy to the PROD.

Also, make sure you can untick the export value option in the environment variable.
