Predefined view in a Sherpoint List

Is it possible in a Canvas App to access a defined view of a sharepoint list in a canvas app without using the filter function in the app, i.e. using the filtered view as the source? .. cause of the MS Problem of 5000 Rows :)

The 5,000 row "limit" is easily circumvented by indexing in SharePoint any fields involved in queries (you are allowed 20 per list). Bear in mind that Delegable queries come back in batches of 100, so the user would have a lot of scrolling.
