Self reference in named formulas

Dear all,

I have been trying to create named formulas referencing Self, e.g. Self.text or Self.Size etc. but Self seems not be recognized in the named formulas.

It is clear that object-wise when creating a formula, there is nothing to reference until used in the actual component.

Unfortunately I could not find any solution to this.

Is there any workaround/trick known to achieve this?

Thank you

Are you talking about expressions in power automate or in power apps ? i beleive power automate does not support the usage of self while power apps does.

I am very sorry, I must have misclicked and it landed in wrong subforum. Yes, I mean power apps and not power automate and no, it does not work for me.

In regular expressions in power apps it works, but I want to put it into a named formula for reuse and here it is not accepted

User defined functions will solve this, You can try using them now even though they are only experimental.

The fundamental issue is that a Named Formula does not refer to any specific control, therefore Self is not available as a parameter.
