All of our User (systemuser) records are present in all of our CDS instances, except that in every case the Manager (parentsystemuserid) field is always null. Our assumption/expectation is that the Manager field should be set to reference the proper User record in the CDS if the Manager is set on the User object in Azure AD.
Is our assumption correct? If so, is this something where we should contact MS Support, or is there something we can do ourselves to resolve the problem?
(Not sure where this question belongs, so I'm posting it in multiple places.)
Hi @CBatt,
Unfortunately it does not sync the Manager field on User (systemuser). That Manager field is a lookup on User and users are created automatically in CDS when their licenses are assigned and optionally if they are part the CDS' security group. So the managers might not all exists in the CDS even though it's probably not the reason Manager's aren't synced. Furthermore, it very possible that the Manager association is CDS might not reflect the Manager in AD due to the business requirements. For ex: in CDS, the manager might be the escalation person however in AD, the people manager.
You should submit the idea though to optionally activate Manager sync at: https://powerusers.microsoft.com/t5/Power-Apps-Ideas/idb-p/PowerAppsIdeas
Hope this clarifies!
