Risk Matrix

Hello all

I am trying to build a risk matrix. I have built the matrix itself using a gallery and made it 5x5 (so 25 choices). I am connected to a SP list in which I have Likelihood and Impact values stored in a couple of records.  I would like to plot a dot or x within the corresponding square in the matrix (which would mean a value of likelihood * impact) based on the record. I am very confused as to how to even start this, do I need a collection with all of the permeations in it? Then if so how do I match and only present the X in the right square in the matrix?

Sorry I don't have anything to share to start with as I need to understand what I need to do first

Thanks

J

    Hi @JasonM73 ,

    My method:

    1. Find a suitable 5 x 5 risk matrix online or create your own one in PowerPoint. Make sure you spend time getting the look of the Risk Matrix exactly how you need
    2. Save the Risk Matrix as an Image
    3. Upload the image into your canvas app and resize/position as appropriate.
    4. Decide on the visual you will use to plot the risk, e.g., a dot, icon or shape. I personally prefer a square shape to wrap around each risk score
    5. Add a text label and size it to exactly match one of the Risk Matrix squares in your image (note it does not have to be a label, you could use a shape or an icon).

    6. You now need to add an expression into your Border Colour property of the label. This is to display an appropriate border colour where the item probability x likelihood is equal to every scenario in a 5x5 configuration. In my example, the expression for this label checks if the selected probability score is 1 and if the selected likelihood score 1. If that condition is met, then the expression will change the border colour of my text label positioned over the 1 square.
    7. Note you do not need apply this logic to the border colour. You could for example apply this logic to the border thickness property (use 0 where the criteria is not met, and anything above 0 where the criteria is met) or the Visible property. Play around with it and see what is most appropriate for your scenario
    8. Duplicate the text property and then position and size it to match to the next square (e.g. for Risk Score 2), then adjust the expression so it applies to that risk score. For a 5x5 configuration you will need to repeat this step to cater for all 25 scenarios.

@Amik - Thank so much for this has helped me immensely and I have modified to fit my solution, I simply used an icon with the Visible property set to true or false based on an existing outcome value. Once again thank you
