Table look ups and relationships for auto populating across tables. Canvas app or Dataverse?

Hi community,

I'm new to the Power Platform but I'm building my first app (an events management app) to get some expertise so forgive me if I have incorrect assumptions or if I'm missing something obvious. I'm not even sure if I should be operating the solution in Dataverse directly or in the Canvas App itself so here goes...

I have three tables that relate to each other. They are:

1. Locations - Contains information about different office locations.

2. Meeting Rooms - Contains details about meeting rooms, including which office location they are in.

3. Events: Contains details for all events across the company.

Requirements:

1. When I create or edit an entry in the "Events" table and select a specific "Location", I want the "Meeting Room" lookup to only show the rooms associated with that particular location, not all meeting rooms from all locations.

2. Once a meeting room is selected in the "Events" table, I want the Capacity field in the "Events" table to auto populate from the data in the "Meeting Rooms" table.

I've tried setting this up, but I'm running into issues. I've attached screenshots to give you a clearer picture of the current setup.

Any guidance or step-by-step help would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you in advance!

This is in my Canvas app and is populated with data from the "Events" table.

The "Events" table in Dataverse. I would like the Capacity column to be auto populated once a meeting room is selected.

    Hi @TeachNT ,

In the canvas app you could try:

Set the MeetingRoomcombobox's Items property to

    LookUp(MeetingRooms,Location.Name=LocationCombobox.Selected.Name)

Set the textinpu control's default property to:

    MeetingRoomcombobox.Selected.Capacity

    Best Regards,

    Bof

    Thanks Bof!

    That worked perfectly.
