Stop if variable is not received from URL

Hi all,

I have set up my bot to retrieve values from certain variables in the URL of my Iframe. I did this according to the method described at https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-copilot-studio/guidance/pass-context-variables-from-webpage-to-copilot, and it works. I have added a question at the start of the conversation, where the variable is first attempted to be filled from the URL. If the bot cannot retrieve the value from the url, the user is asked to manually provide the value.

What I would like now is for the process to block when the variable cannot be retrieved from the URL, preventing the user from proceeding.

I haven’t been able to find out if this is possible or how to set it up.

Who can help me further?

Thank you in advance!

Kind regards,

Lars

I have already found a solution by implementing the integration on my website differently, so the current behavior, where the bot continues asking if it can't find a value, can remain as it is. If someone happens to know the answer, I’d still be curious, as it might be helpful in the future, but please don’t spend any time on it since my issue has already been resolved.

Can i check how you are setting up the variable currently?

I would suggest you can try using this approach of populating the variables using Inputs in Topics.

When you use the above method, the variable should be auto populated when the topic is triggered. As a first step you can check the variable and end the topic so that the process does'nt continue.

    Thanks.
