I am stuck with an issue where I wanted to allow end users to create email templates against a custom table in our environment. The table has timelines enabled and users have been sending individual emails from the custom table as well as auto emails are sent via Power automate.
When we wanted to enable email template features we noticed that we cannot add any table to the TemplateType drop down. The only options are Account, Contacts,User and System Job. We couldn't find any document on how to add a custom object and hence we raised a ticket with Microsoft and we got the reply that - "We understand your goal is to enable email templates for your custom object. As mentioned, the setting on the Template entity isby designto prevent unintended relationships and maintain system integrity."
This was an eye opener as we use multiple other CRM products like Salesforce and Siebel CRM and all these have this ability since ages. We are currently stuck at this point and hope someone has a hack that they can suggest.
As per my knowledge EMAIL TEMPLATE is SYSTEM-OWNED. So you cannot acheieve the same in Custom Entity.
