Hi everyone!

Please help. This is what I have:

dataverse table : Dropdowns - with the column Cause

dataverse table: Admin with my Wells records where one of the columns is what user picked from the dropdown 'Cause'

Gallery showing all Wells records so the user can check if that data is missing and update according to the dropdown option from the Dropdowns / Cause table / column.

button to patch the change in the existent record.

tried with If formula, tried with lookup, and just can't see how can I pull the default (if exists), and give the option of the dropdown when is empty!

thank you in advance for your help!

    Hi @Ejerus ,

I don't know of a way to pull this default value from the Dataverse table.  You can set the values but not pull the default.  Good review of the ways to set the values... https://arpitpowerguide.wordpress.com/2021/12/28/power-apps-set-reset-choice-and-lookup-columns-in-edit-form/

I’m assuming you want to pull the ‘default selected value’ when you define a Dataverse choice column. Unfortunately Canvas apps don’t do a great job at bringing this info in, even with SharePoint lists.

What I do is just set the ‘Default Selected Items’ property for the combo box. It does set the default properly, just ensure you use Parent.Default if it’s not blank.

Model driven apps on the other hand will respect the default selected value for choices.
