Moving a Power App into a Solution

Hi,

I have developed an app without a solution (as I did not get informed about using solutions) and now I would like to move that app into a solution, so that I can have the app in a development environment and in a production environment.  I have read a lot and watched videos about using environment variables in order to enable moving solutions between environments, but I need to know how to move my existing app from outside of a solution into a new solution that I have created.

I'm sure it's pretty straightforward, but I can't see an obvious way to do it.

Thanks,

Pete

    Greetings @petewalburn!

You just must either create a solution, or get into an already created solution, and on the top ribbon, the same way you have "New" button, you have a "Add existing" button. Just press the “Add existing” button, select App, and then select the type of app you’ve already created.

Then you’ll be prompted to select the App, after which the app will be inside the solution.

    Thanks AminAA

so, I guess I need to create a solution in the initial environment (and import the app and Power Automate Flows) so that I can export this and then import into a different environment.

    Hi there @petewalburn!

In a nutshell, yeah. You should always work within solutions to make it easier to export to other environments or even tenants!
