Is it possible to add the bot as a contact through Skype4Business or Teams? Meaning the user just searches for [Bot name] and chat with it through there.
You can add a Bot to the MS Teams not sure about Skype for Business.
Yes, you can insert your bot into Microsoft Teams.

@renatoromao
I am aware of this, but that was not what i meant. Your solution adds the bot as a part of a existing Team
What i want to have is that the bot will be a contact in Teams/Skype For Business so you write to it like you would any other user.
Actually, if you follow this for a custom app, then you will end up creating a zip file. Once that zip file is completed, any teams user can install it by going into apps and choosing upload a custom app. Just choose the zip and that person will have the bot as a personal chat in their teams across all devices.
Again that is still not what i am looking for.
I'm sorry for being annoying, but this is something that every user in the organization needs to be able to do, and asking them to unzip a file and manually install an app into Teams is just not going to happen
The goal here is for the user to simply go in the Teams app search for the bot name under contacts like they would search for any other member of the organization and start a chat that way
Other bot makers already have this like BotXO
Alright hopefully this will be added by Microsoft at some point.
Hi @OliverTeglhus ,
I created your idea: https://powerusers.microsoft.com/t5/Power-Apps-Ideas/Add-bot-as-a-user-that-can-be-contacted-through-Microsoft-Teams/idi-p/417507
Please, vote for us.
Thanks i voted for it. 🙂
How is that not a feature yet? 🙂 You can connect it to Kik but not as a contact in Teams?!? - I'm looking forward to this also so I voted.
