Automatically export certain Account data

Hello,

We have a request to automatically export certain Account data to OneDrive business.

By hand, it can be easily done by selecting a custom view and exporting it as Excel file from our Model-Driven app but the catch here is that the condition of the custom view includes "a last modified date column is n days ago".  So it would be cumbersome to change the condition when a user forgets to manually export it as Excel file.

Dataflow doesn't meet our requirement because Dataverse can not be selected as a data source.   If there is any good idea, it would be greatly appreciated.

I have the same question (0)

You could just build a Power Automate Flow on a schedule trigger that retrieves the Accounts from Dataverse and builds a csv for OneDrive.

@klein-tail - could you put some light on "Dataflow doesn't meet our requirement because Dataverse can not be selected as a data source" was the option turned off by company or transformation is not possible?

@GR29 Power Platform dataflows are only intended for use with Dataverse or Azure Data Lake as the target. You might be thinking of Data Factory Wrangling Dataflows, which is easy to do because they are so similar. this documentation page calls out the distinctions.

@klein-tail since we're here, data factory wrangling dataflows might also be a good solution for you, though they take a bit more care and precision than a simple power automate flow.

Thank you @cchannon , I was confused with the statement. That helped.

Power Automate still would be my personal choice to sort this out.

Agreed. If it is a simple export-and-save situation, Power Automate will be much easier (and cheaper) to run.

Only if there is a lot of transformation and manipulation to do would I suggest you take a look at Data Factory.

I was able to add this feature using Power Automate.  Thank you for your suggestion.
