Can we extend (subclass) an existing component?

We need to use an editable grid, but due to our functional requirements, it needs some extra custom functionality.

Since I don’t find much about this topic, I would like to ask some questions about this:

Is it possible to extend a PowerApps Control Framework control?
Is this supported or will it be in the (near) future?
What is the proper way to do this?

The current editable grid (and first party controls in general) are not available for extention or inheritance. We plan to do it and its on the roadmap but not something which will be avaialble in short term (6-9 months).
