Can you use an excel static list with power automate to resolve 2000 row gallery limit?

Hello all,

I do not have much experience with Power Apps so apologies in advance if this is a stupid question.

I have created a power app that is required to display & filter 10,000+ plus records in gallery view, unfortunately I believe that both Sharepoint & Excel have a 2000 row limit.

I understand that an ‘Excel Static List’ has a max of 15000 records. Is it possible to import and use a ‘Excel Static List’ in gallery view (when the app is opened), and when the app is closed, use power automate to add records? Then finally import the updated ‘Excel Static List’ when the app is opened again?

The dataset in question will not be edited within the app. It will be used for viewing purposes only. Failing this, is there an alternative solution that can handle large datasets in gallery view?

I will be very grateful if one of you guru’s can point me in the right direction

Many thanks

CF

    Hi @Anonymous ,

SharePoint list is a delegable data source for delegable functions, however, excel worksheet is non-delegable data source.

Could you please share the formula of Items property you would like to apply in the Gallery? If you use an Excel table as data source, you will still not be able to filter the gallery.

Here are blogs from @WarrenBelz  talking about delegation issue quite detailed and providing some solutions, please check if could help.

Many thanks for the links relating to delegation @v-jefferni,

My formula currently looks like this:-

    Filter('ADM', Dropdown1.Selected.Result = Route, 'Action'.Value = "Completed" Or 'Action'.Value = "Raised in Error")

I would also like to add 4 or 5 other filters as well if this is possible?

    Hi @Anonymous ,

That depends on the column types you would like to filter by. In SharePoint list, Text, Date or Choices(single selection) type columns would always be delegable no matter how many of them you have applied in the Filter function.

Sorry for my last post that I have not pasted the links to Warren's blogs..

    Hope this helps.
