Powerapps some users dont see all information some do - permissions are all the same

Hi everyone,

I have a problem with my App. Everything is working for me and all permissions are set up the same way for all other users in the organization.

I have two Sharepoint lists and gave the whole organization permission to access and display those lists.

I have no restrictions set up or areas that only some are allowed to see or use.

The problem is that some users only see partially the information, for example in textinputs, for some there is text missing and others are able to see everything as it is set up. The same problem occurs is if you use the PC or cellphone App.

Ist this something that is known? Did I forget anything with the permissions? How come some see everything and some only parts even though it seems that all have the same permissions?

Thank you for your help.

Without knowing much about your app, here are some ways permissions can get tripped up:

    • If the app uses the Office365Groups connector or similar, is everyone in appropriate groups and is everything shared to those groups?
    • Do all users have the same access to ALL data sources. Check for view-only and permissions related to premium connectors, such as SQL tables.
    • Does the app use any data source to distinguish users, such as a column that assigns a role to the app?
    • Do filters or similar functions in the app use something that depends on the user?
    • Check use of User.FullName functions. Sometimes user names are not entered into Azure AD in expected ways. User.Email is better and unique.

Note, sharing the app itself is only the first step in permissions. Gotta check the data sources too!

    Hope this helps,

    Bryan

Hi Bryan 🙂 thanks for taking your time again .

We have one group for all users and the users in that group all have the same permissions. I added the group to the permissions to see the Sharepointlists and the PowerApp.

There is no difference in users for columns or something like that. Either they have permission for the whole sharepoint list or nothing at all.

I have no filters for different functions.

OK, can you get really detailed about one label that works for one user and doesn't work for another, ideally while looking at the same record? Let's look at the code on that label and trace it backwards to the data source so we can understand what it does and why it shows data in that way.

I actually used the old PC trick by turning it off and on again.

I removed the permissions and added them again. It seems to be working at least for those that gave me a feedback yet. Hopefully I get some more feedbacks to know if it really was that easy.

Maybe the system got some problems when suddenly 50 people opened it for the first time. Who knows.

OK, let us know if you got it straightened out and Accept a Solution to close off the thread.
