Old Choice Values Still Appear in Dropdown After Updating SharePoint Choice Column

Hi everyone,

I’m experiencing a persistent issue with a Power Apps form connected to a SharePoint list. My scenario is as follows:

I have a SharePoint list with a Choice column. I created a Power Apps form using this list.. Later, I changed two values in the Choice column in SharePoint. In Power Apps, I updated the data source, removed the Choice fields from the form, and re-added them.

Problem:

Even after all of the above, the old Choice values (which no longer exist in SharePoint) still appear in the dropdown in the form. They can even be selected, although they are no longer part of the Choice list in SharePoint.

I have tried:

Updating the data source

Removing and re-adding the field

Using NewForm()

Closing and reopening the app

…but nothing works. It seems like Power Apps is caching old Choice values somewhere, but I can’t figure out how to remove them.

Has anyone else encountered this issue?

Thanks in advance for any guidance!

Just to clarify terminology.  When you say you Updated the data source after the change, do you mean you manually refreshed the connection for that Data Source? That should pick up the new changes.
If that doesn't work try manually editing the Items property to a static value and then re-add the Choices() formula.

    Hi @S_K

    Please try this.

    0. Verify the environment, possibly you are pointing at an old version of the List, or Environment by accident
    1. Try to remove the Source itself and re-adding it
    2. If that doesn't fix it, then add a random Combobox or dropdown (not in a form) just somewhere. If you still see the values, then
    3. Click Edit on the DataSource (instead of refresh), see if the values are there
    4. Go Incogito/private and see clear your cache

If all that and its still there, it is almost assuredly the wrong environment being pointed at, so check super closely in case you have dev/test ones or an Environment variable.

I have never seen it cache like this per se, so if removing and re-adding doesn't fix it, I truly believe it could be the wrong environment that was updated or pointing at now

If these suggestions help resolve your issue, Please consider Marking the answer as such and also maybe a like.

    Thank you!
    Sincerely, Michael Gernaey

We have the same problem. We checked all the points indicated by @Michael E. Gernaey, but without success
    Could be a general issue?
