Adding formula for Calculated field

Hi,

I am struggling to work out how to get a calculated field to work in my Model driven app.  Here is the scenario:

- I add a column to the table (Total Project Budget)

- I set the column to currency, and define it as calculated

- I save the new column.

I then go back to edit the column (so that I can define the calculation)....I select the edit button below the behaviour (calculation), but this does not open the properties options to define the calculation.

Am I missing something?, is my licence or environment setup not allowing a calculation...I am confused.

Any help would be appreciated.

Cathy

    Hi @cathy_c

I tried it by adding a new column cost set data type as currency and defined it as calculated and save it .Screenshot 2022-11-08 092323.jpg

On click edit icon it shows the screen shown below.

Where you can add condition and action based on it using formulas .

In hope this helps you !

    Thanks

    Hi #ShrutiDhiman,

this is the behaviour that I expected, but when I click on the edit, it just saves and closes the record....maybe there is something at the table level that I has not been enabled that allow me to create the formula.  This is what is frustrating me.

    Hi @ShrutiDhiman

I have been continually trying to the last 4 hrs.  It just saves the column definition...I never get the calculation edit page in order to enter a formula.  Is there some sort of trick to get the calc page to show up??

No, there is no trick to do that . It happens with me also but it shows that calculation edit screen after 2 to 3 attempts .

While creating a new column if you choose data type as formula and then write down the formula as per your requirement .You can try this May this helps you

    Hi Cathy,

This is coming 2 years late but the reason why is because you had blocked pop ups on your browser

You probably figured this out, but allow Pop ups on your browser and you are good to go.
