How to unblock a knowledge source

Hi, I'm trying to upload two Word documents to my agent as part of its knowledge base. However, in the "Knowledge" tab, their status shows as "Blocked" with the error: "Not allowed due to your organization's data loss prevention policies. Contact your admin."

I've already tried changing the sensitivity label to "Public" and uploading the files to SharePoint folders, but neither approach worked. I'm creating this agent in my own environment, so I suspect there might be a setting I can adjust to allow the upload. Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to locate the relevant configuration.

Interestingly, the same documents can be uploaded successfully if I create the agent using M365 Copilot. However, I need to use Copilot Studio because M365 Copilot doesn’t support calling additional tools.

Could someone help me resolve this?

Hi,

Assuming you have access, you should check the Power Platform Admin Center and follow the directions in this article Data policy example - Configure a policy for knowledge sources for agents - Microsoft Copilot Studio | Microsoft Learn

You need to make sure the DLP for your environment allows the below Knowledge Sources.

I had same issue. If the document is already open in your windows and if you are trying to upload its shows its blocked.

Close the document and trying again.
