Model Driven App - Project/Business Unit Select

Hello,

I am currently developing a model driven app that will be used by multiple projects. Each project will have its own business unit, with all data associated with that project having the corresponding owning business unit. My challenge is that some users may work on multiple projects, and I'm struggling to find a way to allow them to switch between projects easily within the app. One option is to change their home business unit every time they need to work on a different project, but this isn't an ideal solution.

Is there a way to have some kind of landing page in a model driven app where a user can select their project (based on what they have access to through security roles, have some kind of global variable that selects this project and filters all views to only this project, and automatically assigns the owning business unit field to the project's associated business unit? Or are there any other ways of handling this situation without changing the users home business unit?

Thanks in advance!

Yes, you can have a business unit team per business unit.

You can associate people from other BU's into that team.

that team can have the roles necessary to access the data for that Project, within the app. So you aren't swapping BU's. The person is already associated to each BU via the Team and therefor gains the roles necessary to access the data.

They are still part of whatever primary BU they always were.

Hi @Michael E. Gernaey, thanks for the response!

Is there a way for them to select an "active" project when opening the app so that all views are filtered to that project, rather than showing everything they have access to?
