Why does MCP Dataverse Query fail when Code Interpreter feature is enabled?

Hello Community,

I am experiencing an issue with MCP Dataverse in my chat agent. When I enable the Code Interpreter feature, any query sent through MCP Dataverse returns “data not found”, even though the same query works perfectly when Code Interpreter is disabled.

I enabled Code Interpreter because I want to display charts and graphs in the chat during Q&A sessions. However, this seems to break the MCP Dataverse query functionality.

My questions are:

Why does enabling Code Interpreter cause MCP Dataverse queries to fail?

Is there an alternative way to display charts or graphs in the chat while still using MCP Dataverse tools?

Any guidance or best practices would be greatly appreciated.

Hey @CU25110818-0,

Enabling Code Interpreter changes the execution context, so MCP Dataverse queries don’t reach the connector as expected. To use both, first query Dataverse, then pass the data to Code Interpreter for visualization. Alternatively, disable auto-interception or use built-in charting options in MCP.

I had the issue, what i suggest to you is to help the agent understanding how manage the creation of the query by explain how you'r table and column are structured and what are there purpose
