Cannot delete records anymore

Hi community,

I have a database in Dataverse in Teams. I routinely manage the data through the backend (so not through an app interface) and this worked just fine.

All of a sudden, I cannot delete records anymore. In the past, when I selected one or more records, PowerApps used to show an option 'Delete [number] records' in the menu bar. But from one moment to another, it no longer does that. Now, after selecting records PowerApps keeps showing 'Tabeleigenschappen bewerken' (= Edit table properties).

  • I have made no changes in settings or user rights that I know of.
  • There is no message to the user of some problem.
  • Restarting Teams does not solve the problem.
  • Both the Teams client and the web interface have the same problem.

Does anybody have an idea how to fix this?

Cheers,

Jan

If you go through the app interface does the Delete button show up? Do you have System Administrator role?

    Hi bscarlavai33,

Thanks for your reply.  I'm not sure I understand your questions correctly, as I'm still kinda new to this environment.

    >If you go through the app interface does the Delete button show up?

If by 'the app interface' you mean the PowerApps interface, then no the delete button does no longer show up when selecting records. The delete option did show up until recently but not any more.

If by 'the app interface' you mean a custom built PowerApps-app on top of this database, then the answer is that we don’t have any (only a PowerBI-app).

    >Do you have System Administrator role?

Again, not quite sure how to answer. I’m the creator and owner of this database and of the MS Teams-team in which the database resides. But any System Admin role will probably be with our centralized IT-department. I will ask them if they have recently changed some settings that might cause this problem, but it doesn’t seem likely to me.

    Thx,

    Jan

Hello, @JBalje , I see that you have multiple Lookup columns, so you have relationships. You need to make sure that those relationship are nor set to referential-Restrict (Means, if there is a parent record you can't delete the parent record until you delete the Childs records related to that parent record)

    Hello @JBalje ,

Please try this workaround and see it works for you.
