Making the labels much larger in a model driven app

I would like to make the labels for a section on a form take up 2/3 of the column and then have the control take up the other third. However the width setting in the classic form editor doesn't seem to do anything (and I know there is a max that would prevent it anyway).

Is there anyway to get more control over the layout of my forms without having to insert a canvas app or do something really hacky?

Thanks for the help.

    Hi @cerlendson ,

The level of customization for Model driven apps are restrictive (this is what Canvas Apps are for).

However, it is certainly possible to adjust the field width of your label to take up 2 columns on a 3 column section.

Select the your field in the three column section, and then select Form Field width.

I don't want the whole field to take up 2 of 3 columns, I want the label to take up 2/3 and the a drop down directly left of the label to take up the other third.

It looks bad having the drop-down that only contains single word values take up the vast majority of the layout, and the a label with 10 words gets squished and split into 3 lines.

    Hi @cerlendson ,

This used to be possible by adjusting the section properties for all fields inside a section using the classic editor, but any change made here no longer translates back to the modern interface.

The alternative (which is also not ideal) is to bring the Labels to the top as opposed to the left.

    @cerlendson

In my previous project in which they have a very long label for the field (survey question), we just convinced the customer to bring the Labels to the top of the field as @Amik suggested because the width setting in the classic form editor no longer works for the Unified Interface and the customization options are pretty limited for the model-driven app.

Try this, Once the Main Form Opened,

    1. Select/Click on the SECTION where the field is Available.

    2. Click Change Properties at the TOP.

    3. Click Formatting and Navigate to Field Label position and Select TOP and Click ok --> Save --> Publish

    4. Next Switch to Classic mode and publish from there and close the window.

    5. and then publish again from make.powerapps.com model driven app editor.

    Here you go.
