hi Expert
I have following scenario

now in power apps the value i have two drop down

1. If Status is changed to closed than the request status will be pending
2. If Status is already closed and request status is approved than only submit form
3. If Requested status is rejected than when you change the status to close than new request status will be pending

for details see the table below
Step Used Case Scenario Current Status New Status Current Request Status New Request Status
1 Initial Closure Request Open Closed Open Pending
2 Initial Closure Approved Closed closed Pending Approved
3 If  you edit approved Case Closed Closed Approved Approved
4 Initial closure rejected Closed Open Pending Rejected
5 Initial Closure Resubmitted Open Closed Rejected Pending
6 Resubmission of Closure Approved Closed closed Pending Approved
7 If edit existing Case excluding closure request  Open Open Open Open

i was trying to store the value of the request status to the onchange property of Status and trying to set the defauslected item of the request status to default. lost in this logic only

    Firstly, can you please remember to post your code in Text - saves re-typing here. The fundamental issue however is that Set() is used to initiate/update a Variable, not to change the content of a control. You need to set a Variable (use a Context Variable) to the value you want (example)
    UpdateContext({varStatus: "Open"})
    and then the DefaultSelectedItems of the Combo Box
    {Value: varStatus}
