Hello everyone,

What's the easiest way to update an excel online datasource? My app relies on this data and it is updated nearly every week. Currently, I'm deleting the connection, making updates to the Excel Online datasource table, and then creating the connection again.

it depends on the source that updates the excel. If the data is manually / updating by any 3rd party application ( jobs) and if you can store them in OneDrive with a Service Account connection, it is not required to update the connections on weekly basis.

1. you can use MS Flows to update the excel sheet on schedule based
2. it is not required to delete the connections, the only pre-requisite is not open the canvas app - while updating the excel from the back-end

I have to manually update the excel online table by copying and pasting data. So the excel file will automatically add the PowerApps ID column if I delete the data in the table and then paste new data in it's place?

yes, you can update the data and delete the PowerAppsID column data. This PowerAppsID data automatically gets created/updated once it is mapped to canvas app or MS Flow (so, no worries regarding that).

ensure the app is not accessing the data while the data (excel) is updating
Close the excel sheet opened before accessing it from canvas app
try Refresh(DataSource) - to ensure the canvas app is pulling up the updated information.
