Patching a choices OptionSet through PowerApps

Hi,

I developed an app where some columns in the Dataverse data source are Choices columns.  I initially set up the choices options when creating the tables.

Now users are requesting that they configure Choices Optionsets (New Options, Editing Values) via a power app interface instead of running a request through me to make changes.

Is it possible to patch an optionset in Power Apps?

I have the same question (0)

    Hi @trjackson77

I think you can do the below for the same to achieve

    Patch(Table,Defaults(Table){ColumnName : Dropdown.Selected.Value})

    you can refer this link

    https://powerusers.microsoft.com/t5/Building-Power-Apps/Can-t-patch-OptionSet-value-to-DataVerse-table/td-p/964467#:~:text=Option%20sets%20and%20Patching%20is,comes%20is%20an%20expected%20error.

@rampprakash, respectfully, this is not what I am asking.  Your suggestion will patch the choices lookup column in the table.  I want to Patch the OptionSet itself using a Canvas App.  I want users to be able to configure the choices in the OptionSet without giving them access to / forcing them to use the Dataverse environment backend.
    Regards,

    Tim.

@trjackson77 if your users has the necessity to modify the collection, I strongly suggest to create a custom table and change the field from a choice to a lookup.

@GuidoPreite just to be clear, are you saying it is not possible to modify the optionset in a canvas app?

I didn't say it's not possible. But the optionset values are considered metadata, and in order to modify them a privilege higher than the standard CRUD must be given (there are exceptions to this like is possible to add values due to excel import) but if the users needs to add/update/delete options, a custom table and a lookup makes more sense from a software architecture point of view.

Awesome, @GuidoPreite , thanks for the clarification.  Something to think about when I'm building apps on Dataverse going forward.

    Thanks again.

    Tim.
