Camera Stream blank since Client Version 3.25042.6 works ok on Version 3.25041.9

Hi all, had an issue today that had me scratching my head, a production version of an app that captures peoples image on sign in starting give blank images. We are using the camera control and a button to store the camera stream on a variable. Since 3.25042.6 this resulting variable posted a blank imaged in the dataverse when saved, the variable when put in a text control displayed a base 64 png but doesnt show an image in an image control.

As I exhausted all other avenues to fix in the app I quicky created a simple test app that set the stream in a variable and displayed it in a a image, once published this also didnt work but luckily we had a device with version 3.25041.9, testing on this device it worked as normal displaying the image. We then updated to the latest version and it stopped working proving this is the issue.

So if you are using the method of capturing images in an app it will be broken in the latest client version of Powerapps.

We have a found a setting to stop updates in Intune hoping this will stop iPads in production updating to the broken version.

Has anyone else come across this or replicate?

Thanks

I am seeing this as well this morning. I use the OnSelect tap / click on camera control to store image and the tap / click no longer works stores a blank image. It seems to work fine in development environment on web player though which makes testing difficult.

Had similar problems before - Workaround for change affecting Patch of Camera.Image to SQL and Storing photo format changed? Camera control to Azure SQL works on web player not on IOS player. After months with Microsoft support they just told me I was doing it wrong.

Identical issue here, but worth noting it seems to only be iOS affected, not Android. iOS App updated overnight and early this morning for many users, then immediately after images weren't arriving in the back end data source.
From my testing camera.stream doesnt seem to work in this latest version on iOS - no image, no data at all.  Same test app works fine in desktop browser and on Android with v3.25042.6.
I've got a support case open with Microsoft.

Ditto.  Entire production is down.  Wish you all luck with your support tickets.  Last time I tried they closed mine against my explicit wishes because I told them I wouldn't be able to respond for one day.

Edit-  As several of you have said it works on a previous version, is there actually a way to roll back the Powerapp's App to a previous version?  I've been told no before but I don't trust the sources I'm dealing with.

edit2- Got my first contact with support.  They are unaware of any issues internally and are investigating, so hopefully this gets someone's attention and they can figure out why they broke iOS functionality.

One other oddity that I have noticed in testing this morning is that Camera.Photo doesn't respect device rotation but Camera.Stream did. I have a landscape app and so the .Photo images are all 90 or 270 rotated wrong.

I've been working with someone on the base 64 png output from the text control.  Has anyone been able to convert that back to an image outside of powerapps?  Looking into just storing the string and converting elsewhere as an emergency workaround, but so far no success.

Same story here. using an image control to store the value of camera stream. Shows as blank in app when button is using to trigger it. All iPad with new app are unusable.

@dungar be careful with the text versions because depending on storage they may not be what you expect. Look at threads I referenced in another post on this thread.

Official statement from MS support is that this is now a known bug and being worked on by the Product Team.  Said they are trying to have it resolved by Friday.

Obviously this is a front end tech so i'm not going to grill them on timeframes for a patch that globally broke production ,but there's your light at the end of the tunnel I suppose.

In work around world we're also testing treating it like a camera, not a stream, again, which gives the rotation issues discussed earlier but at least gets you a real image.  Not sure if that'll push to our DB though as a patch 1 or 2 years ago was why we stopped using that method in the first place.  I cannot wait until we finish our dotnet app to replace this thing.

@dungar Was that official statement from MS in your support ticket or in the admin centre, i cant find anything related to it but could do with it to support our claim its an MS thing to customers.

    Thanks

@stingray Statement from tech in support ticket opened from the admin center with some form of supposed proof.  As always i'm hesitant to trust any support level response and don't love that i've heard nothing since and also don't see anything official.
