SharePoint access error during solution import after recent Power Platform update

Hi everyone,

I'm encountering an issue when importing a solution into our environments (RE7 → PROD) using an admin account with full privileges. This issue seems to have started after recent changes/updates to the solution import experience in Power Platform.

🔍 Context

  • Platform: Microsoft Power Platform
  • Components: Power Apps / Power Automate solutions
  • External dependency: SharePoint Online
  • Account used: Global admin / full access

❗ Issue

During the solution import process, when I need to reassign SharePoint sites and lists:

  • The SharePoint sites/lists are not visible in the selection panel
  • Or I get an error message like:

    "You do not have permission"

⚠️ Important details

  • The account used has full admin rights across environments
  • The same process used to work before
  • The issue started appearing recently, after updates to the import module/experience
  • The SharePoint sites do exist and are accessible manually
  • The issue occurs specifically during the import/reassignment step

🔄 What I already checked

  • Verified SharePoint permissions (admin + site access)
  • Tried recreating connections
  • Tested access directly to SharePoint (works fine)
  • Ensured environment variables and connection references are configured

❓ Questions

  • Has anyone experienced a similar issue since the recent updates to the import process?
  • Could this be related to stricter validation of permissions or connections?
  • Is there any known regression or change impacting SharePoint connectors during solution import?

Any insights or feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

    Hi,
Even if your admin account has full access, the import process checks permissions using the connection reference identity (not your user). That’s why SharePoint sites/lists don’t show up or you get the “no permission” error.
    What fixed it for me:
Make sure the account used in the SharePoint connection reference (or service principal, if used) has access to the SharePoint site and list
Reauthenticate or recreate the SharePoint connection in the target environment
Rebind the connection reference to the correct connection
(If needed) temporarily enter the site/list manually (URL or name), then save
After updating the connection and permissions, the SharePoint resources started showing up again during import.
Looks like this is due to stricter validation in the new import experience.

    Hi,

    Thanks for your reply.

I went through all the checks you mentioned, but the issue still persists in my case.

    What I verified

    • The account used in the SharePoint connection reference has full access to the SharePoint site and lists

    • The connection was reauthenticated and also recreated in the target environment

    • The connection reference is correctly bound to the updated connection

    • Direct access to the SharePoint site and lists works without any issue

    Current behavior

    Despite all of this:

    • No SharePoint sites or lists are displayed during the import process

    • The same "no permission" error still appears

This is happening even when using an admin account and a freshly recreated connection.

    Additional note

This setup was working before, and the issue only started recently, which makes me think it might be related to changes in the import process or stricter validation introduced recently.

Has anyone seen a similar case where everything is correctly configured but SharePoint resources still don’t appear?

    Thanks again for your help.
