Display.Mode overrides field color

In my Power Apps form, all fields have a custom Fill property that changes color based on the DisplayMode of their respective DataCards. This works fine in Edit and New mode, but when the card, the field, or the entire form is set to View mode (e.g. Classification field) or Disabled mode (e.g. Issue field), the background color is overridden and forced to white if it is in View mode and faded out in Disabled mode, ignoring my Fill settings.

Is this behavior expected for modern controls or theme-based styling? If so, is there a workaround to preserve custom colors in View mode without losing the default functionality?

Thanks in advance!

Does your form use Classic controls instead of Modern?  If so then there are specific properties of the controls that specify disabled color and disabled fill color.

    Hello @AT-06111709-0

This is expected/default behavior for modern forms and controls in Power Apps. Modern controls apply theme-based styling, which overrides custom Fill colors in View and Disabled modes to maintain consistency and accessibility.

If your requirement is to control background colors based on form or card mode, you can use classic forms/controls instead. Classic controls provide properties like Fill and DisabledFill, which allow you to explicitly define colors that work consistently across New, Edit, View and Disabled modes.
