Table's form title

Hi,

In CDS table, for each of its form, what actually controlled the title on the very first row of Header section ?

This one ->

This example taken from Accounts form. So normally, it will have that text "New Account" when we add new record, whereas for edit it will the account name like this :

I have a situation for my new (add new form) whereby both add new and edit record, showing New <my table name >

Wondering why that happened and how to solve it.

Thanks in advance.

I have the same question (0)

    Hi @Axal :

Could you first exclude the value of the primary key of the record you are editing is "New"?

Could you provide a screenshot of the edit mod form?

    Best Regards,

    Hi,

You mean exclude the Primary Name Field or the one which is type "UniqueIdentifier" ?

But we cannot remove the PFN, am I right to say that ? This is the form editing :

Journal Name as you can see is my PFN, and I cannot remove it (error), so I can only hide it. And I don't think I include the UniqueIdentifier field.

    Thanks

    Hi @Axal :

No, I just want to check whether the value of the "Primary Name Field" of the record you are currently editing is "New", which may cause the problem you said.In addition to this, I can't think of other possibilities for the time being. I read a lot of documents about custom headers yesterday, but I didn’t find any content that can customize the part you mentioned.

I just want to check you form, could you please show me a screenshot something like:

    Hi @v-bofeng-msft

I resolved it. Realized from your enquiry, that PFN is empty because I didn't use it. Now I created Business Rule to copy value from my other field which is I used as the key.

Once it is copied, then the title change to whatever in the PFN.

Thanks again to make me realized this. 😀

    Hi @Axal,

Unfortunately you can't that "New <table name>" behavior in the header when creating a new record. It might show new when there's not data your for primary field (i.e Account Name). To fix that, you can you can automatically set a default or computed value with Power Automate or out-of-the-box workflow or Power Automate. Here's Dataverse documentation explaining the Primary Field:

"By default, every entity contains a Primary Field, which is used by lookup fields when establishing relationships with other entities. Typically the primary field stores the name or primary description of the data stored in the entity. You may update the name and display name of the primary field before saving the entity for the first time.

Also, observe that the primary field also has its own Name box, which functions similarly to the entity name described above. The primary field name is autopopulated when a display name is entered, uses the same prefix as the entity, and cannot be changed after the entity is created."

Another option if you want is to completely hide the header with JavaScript. Here's more info on how to do it:
    https://docs.microsoft.com/powerapps/developer/model-driven-apps/clientapi/reference/formcontext-ui-headersection/setbodyvisible

    Hope this helps!
