I have teaching myself to create Model Driven PowerApps. I do not want to use my employers platform so have signed up for a Free PowerApps trial.

My problem is that when I sign into my new account and try access https://make.powerapps.microsoft.com/ to start creating my Model Driven app, I get taken to a browser with a blank page. No matter what I do, I cannot get any further to get to the solution developer.

Have you tried using a different browser or clearing the cookies in your existing browser?

Instead of creating a trial, an alternative is to subscribe to the developer plan. That would give you an environment that's completely independent to your employer, and is likely to work better for you if your employer has implemented policy that blocks certain parts of the platform.
