Problem with mapping Calendar ID

Agent does not fill in Calendar ID in Teams and Outlook tools connected with calendar correctly. I tried email / mine / primary, ... Sometimes it works, sometimes it does not. Do you know how to fix this permanently? Thank you !

The AI currently guesses the Calendar ID each time, which causes inconsistency. To resolve this, set it to a fixed value.

In Copilot Studio, open the calendar action and go to the Calendar Id field:

Change from "Dynamically filled by AI" to "Custom value".

Set it to either:

primary (as a literal string) for the user's default calendar, or

The calendar GUID found in Graph Explorer: GET https://graph.microsoft.com/v1.0/me/calendars.

Additional notes:

Do not use email addresses or "mine" as Calendar ID values, as these are not valid.

Update the action description to: "Always use primary unless the user specifies a different calendar."

For shared calendars, create separate actions with the GUID hard-coded.

This will ensure the Calendar ID remains consistent.

@Nivedipa-MSFT It is weird, because in this case it filled in "primary" correctly but still raised an error.

From my experience, you need to pass the actual Calendar ID.

Primary usually won’t work in this action. Has primary ever worked reliably for you?

The Calendar ID field should receive the real calendar id returned from a tool like Get calendars (V2). Do you already have a step that retrieves the actual calendar IDs and so it can pass the returned id into the calendar action?

@chiaraalina For some reason it never uses the Tool to Get calendars by itself. What helped was to keep the Input as AI filled but to add instructions to always keep primary Calendar ID.

Yes.

An assistant for managing daily work across Outlook and Microsoft Teams. It should identify and summarize the most important emails in high-volume inboxes, monitor Teams chats and mentions to highlight what needs attention, track upcoming meetings while identifying scheduling conflicts, and provide decision support by highlighting messages requiring immediate responses. But I am still more unsure it will ever be able to act like this.
