Hi there,
I am trying to export a solution and import into another environment. After so many errors that I'm hoping I've fixed, I am now getting "Solution "CRM" failed to import: An unexpected error occurred.". Doesn't tell me what is wrong. I can't find the issue in the download log (but I don't really know what I'm looking for in all honesty).
Can anyone help me know where to look to fix this issue? I had a lot of issues with missing dependencies. I got around this by editing the solution.xml file and removing the missing dependencies tag that was being flagged from the file. I'm not sure if that was causing the issue.
Please help! Thanks!
Think I found the error message: "Import failed: Operations on a workspace can only be performed in Solution or Application context"
Any idea's on fixing this? Thanks! I've raised it with Microsoft but hoping i can fix it before they come back to me so I'm not waiting around.
Ok, then I'll suggest to raise a support request with MS if you feel the dependencies are all present.
I've re-downloaded the export so the solution.xml file has not been edited but still get these missing dependencies. I have tried adding required objects but still get the same error.
I didn't notice in your original post that you're trying to edit the solution.xml file, that's a big no-no, besides, Microsoft support may reject the case if they found that the solution.xml was manually edited.
Have you tried to include the dependencies from classic solution editor?
Hey @parvezghumra
Yes i totally understand that. I was struggling to find a fix for the missing dependencies as I was unable to add them, and I saw someone recommend editing the file in another post.
When i try to import the file I get this:
I have tried to Add Existing to the solution but when I search for it, nothing comes up:
I think these came from a Power Portal that i created in the past on the DEV environment but then deleted as it didn't get used. I'm unable to create a power portal in any environment now as IT has cracked down on creation permissions.
Any ideas on how to get around this? I'm really struggling and have been trying everything including downloading the solution, unzipping the file and adding files matching the file name into the webresources folder and re-zipping.
I've created a new solution and exported, imported, then added the missing dependencies that was being flagged (same in the 1st screenshot). then exported and imported again, but the same missing dependencies are flagged. Then when i go to add the web resources, they are in the initial solution.
@MD7 Manually editing the solution.xml file to resolve dependency errors is not an approach I generally recommend. This is likely what is causing the problem.
I'd suggest try to resolve the dependency issues properly in your source (dev) environment before exporting a new version of the solution and then import that into your target instead. If you can share the details of what these dependencies are, I'll try to help resolve them.
some of those shoul've a column with a value error,
Its over 14000 rows. Where do i begin to look?
