Hi guys,

I have another question today regarding my current app.

Let's say I had a SharePoint List with A,B,C,D column. 'C column' is a multiple choices with c1, c2, c3, c4 options to choose from.

I created an EditForm in PowerApp which connect to the Data Source above. It means I will have A, B, C, D field in my form.

The question is: because I want when End User choose option c3 || option c4, D field will become required and End User must fill in D Field if they want to submit the form. How can I do that? I cannot use IF function because the PowerApp said 'Incompatibe type for comparision'.

Thank you for your help guys

    @Bosch_DaDT216 ,

    There is no reason why you can't use the If statement. Are you able to post a screenshot?

    You should be able to add condition logic in the Required property of your control.

    If DatacardValue9 is a dropdown, then try DataCardValue9.Value = "Something"

    Sadly, the DatacardValue9 is a combo box. I did try what your recommend but no luck.

    DatacardValue9 .Selected.XXX ?

    What is your recommend for 'XXX'? I tried 'Value' but the error still there. I tried to change the formula into 'Checkbox1.Text', the formula is fine but the rules I want still not activated.

    Are you doing a Patch or SubmitForm?

    The validation only works for SubmitForm.

    For Patch, you need to add a check on the top

    I am using Patch. Could you tell me more about the 'You need to add a check on the top'?

    Thank you. I figured out how to do it. Actually, I am mislead by using a not correct IF, I use '='. I changed the formula into If("MyRequirement" in DataCardValue9.SelectedItems.Value, true, false). The formula works perfectly.
