Embeeding a PowerApps app into Attract (Talent)

Hi everyone.

We built a canvas PowerApps app and embedded it into a job template in Attract. It uses CDS for storage. Things work fine but there are plenty of opportunities for improvement. One of them is for the app to get to know from Attract which Candidate's application is being processed.

Has anybody given any thoughts on how Attract and PowerApps apps can exchange data at execution time? In this particular case, it would be great if the app could ask Attract what is the candidate, application, etc, under processing.

Any input on it is appreciated.

Thanks

Roque

About two months ago I was made aware of this page: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/unified-operations/talent/extensibility-examples#initiate-and-extract-parameters-passed-to-powerapps

It may be what we were looking for, but I haven't had a chance to test it.

    cheers

We have been asking for this as well.  Context should be able to be passed from Attract to a PowerApp, Microsoft Forms Plus, etc. on the job template.  This feature is sadly lacking.

    Hi Mona.

Thanks for taking the time to help. We understand how to buila a PowerApps app and to embedded it as an activity in an Attract's job template. The question is about which data, if any, can the PowerApp and Attract exchange while the appp runs as an activity in a job template. It would be great, for an instance, if there was a mechanism/technique so that the powerapp activity could find the applicant that's being processed. That's what we are fishing for.

    Cheers.

    Hi @rdaudt,

If you have an existing CDS environment with Talent, you will be able to just log into PowerApps and switch into that environment using the environment switcher at the top. From there, you can click on the "Entities" tab in the nav bar to see the list of all the Talent entities that are available for you extend and you can quickly get started building PowerApps using those entities.

For more information about PowerApps and Attract, you could refer to:

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/unified-operations/talent/extensibility-attract

    Regards,

    Mona
