Hi,
I just discovered microsoft powers apps and have an app idea but unsure if I will be able to make it.
Hoping someone can let me know if its possible then I will take time in learning to make it.
Essentially I am looking to make a site inspections app and the process will be as below:
Add project name
Upload site plan
Within the site plan I can add point number 1 against a location on the plan and once I do this I can then add comments, take pictures of the issue.
I then go back to the site plan and select another area for point 2 and so on until all issues have been identified.
At the end of this I would like to export the data into a PDF/Excel sheet with the appropriate columns and pictures resized to suit. Columns would match headings in the app, for example:
Issue No. Comments Pictures
I know the app is easy enough to make to take pictures and add comments but the parts I am unsure of is starting with a site place and populating to a specific location and exporting data at the end.
Any help would be much appreciated.
In general, yes, all of this can be done in a PowerApp. However, there are some points of it that are more difficult to do - not impossible, just difficult.
So, if you are starting out learning PowerApps by doing this app, you might want to consider working your way into it by accomplishing smaller simpler apps first - perhaps subsets of your larger idea.
Keep in mind that PowerApps is Excel-like! It works from referential formulas like Excel - it is not a development platform. If you keep that in mind, you will fight much less starting out. Too many jump in thinking this is development and bring all the dev baggage along...then fight and fight and frustrate.
I hope this is helpful for you.
