I'm having trouble loading some pretty simple tables into CDS entities with dataflow using ODBC. The tables load into the preview quickly and I'm not doing any transformations. I left everything in the default setting except I changed the primary key fields to text from multiline text (apparently this is required). But when I start the actual load, it takes forever. It goes through several statuses and seems to hang on 'Waiting for load in CDS to complete." The other tables just say "Waiting for other entities." I've let it go for over half an hour. There are about 7,000 rows in the first table that seems to be hanging.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!
Hi @kman42
Try using the dynamics 365 import data wizard. I have found this to be the most robust and by far a superior method when the usual methods in PowerApps fail but it takes a bit of practice. The tables must be converted to txt, csv or spreadsheet 2003 xml format first. Here is an excellent blog article for doing this https://crmbook.powerobjects.com/basics/data-management-in-microsoft-dynamics-crm/importing-data-in-microsoft-dynamics-crm/the-data-import-wizard-in-dynamics-crm/ . If you are trying to populate related tables, this is the only reasonable way to do this.
I have 5 rows and 6 columns in a SharePoint Online list and it is still showing "Waiting for load in CDS to complete" after 7m......
Definitely needs someone to look at this.
If this worked for you, could you accept it as a solution so that others could find it.
Hi @kman42,
It can be an authentication issue. Does the account your Dataflow is authenticated with have MFA enabled? Also, perhaps the account is missing privileges to create the records in CDS? Does that account have privileges or is system admin in CDS? Another thing to troubleshoot, is look at the Refresh History of the Dataflows, any error messages?
Hope this helps!
