Hello,

I am encountering an issue while using Power BI. The following error message appears:
"Object reference not set to an instance of an object"

Details:

  • Power BI Version: [Mention the version, e.g., Power BI Desktop – October 2024 release].

  • Operating System: Windows 11 Home (Version 24H2, OS Build 26100.2605).

  • System Specifications:

    • Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-10210U CPU @ 1.60GHz - 2.11 GHz.
    • RAM: 8.00 GB (7.76 GB usable).
    • System Type: 64-bit Operating System, x64-based processor.
  • Problem Description:
While [describe the action you were performing when the error occurred, such as "refreshing a data source," "opening a specific report," or "creating a query in Power Query"], the above error message appeared.

  • Steps Taken to Resolve the Issue:

    1. Restarted the application completely.
    2. Downloaded and installed the latest version of Power BI from both the official website and the Microsoft Store, but the issue persists.
    3. Verified that the connection to the data source is functioning correctly.
  • Outcome:
Despite these steps, the error continues to appear whenever I perform the same action.

Questions:

  1. Could this issue be related to a conflict between the Power BI version and my operating system?
  2. Could the problem be linked to my device specifications or system settings?
  3. What additional steps can I take to resolve this issue?

Thank you in advance for your assistance!
