How to collect answers?

(Editing post) I have made an Engagement survey app, pre-built so didnt change any questions or so. I connected the app with dropbox and an data-excel sheet was created with four pages inside "Questions, Options, Responses, WelcomeNote"

I saved the app and shared it to myself and finished the survey, looks good but it doesnt NOT collect any of the answers into the excel-table so Id guess I need to do some programming on the "Next question" button, like Collectdata or something, but I dont know how to do this and would love some help!

Thanks,

Andreas

    Hi,

Are you want to save (collect) data in SharePoint List? Can you please explain.

It really doesnt matter where the data is saved. Is it possible to get like an Exceltable where the answers are collected?

If you want to save in excel, then see this Shane Young`s video

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=plKw_xfVfwY

Or, you can create a list in sharepoint and then submits the form and saved the data.

Ok so underneath you see one of the questions; if someone chooses "Chest" for instance, I want to be able to see this answer somewhere to make some statistics in the end. The app is already made but I cant find where the answers are located.

You can sets the defualt value of other field - DropDown.Selected.Value

DropDown - is the name of your drop down where user can select body parts injured

I dont really understand what you mean. I am really new to this, hehe. The only thing I wanna do is when someone are answering the questions within the app, I want to be able to see what he or she choosed as an answer.

So when someone chooses a body part and clicks Next I want their answer to be stored somewhere, like a list or something, I dont really know how to make the responses automatically go into an Excel-table or something.

@Anonymous  you really need to provide more information.  Where is your data stored now?  It does make a difference.  If you are storing it in Excel, well, you're already where you want.  If you are storing in SharePoint, then you can connect that to Excel and do what you need.

@panand99pointed out a great video to see how to work more with the Excel based aspect.

If you built this App, you should be aware of its datasources and the controls you have in your App.  From those you can derive where things are and how to get at them.

If you are wanting to build an Excel workbook on the go, separate from the datasource, then you will have some struggles there as it's not the intended functionality of PowerApps at this time.

Hope that helps give you some starting points.

I just choosed "Employee Engagement Survey", pre built app, and changed the questions to my own, I also changed some design and added some new questions and stuff. I dont know where the data is connected, how do I check this?

So, if I send you the app and you start the survey, you'll answer the questions -- however, I have no idea which answers you have choosed. I want all the answers to be collected somewhere so I can access them. THANKS for all answers, really appreciate it!

    @Anonymousokay, now we're getting somewhere...

When you build a sample template App, they almost always have an Excel file as their data source.

In that template, when you went to build the app, it asked you where you want to put your data.  Usually this is where it will then put the Excel file you will be working with.

HOWEVER, that particular App does NOT write-back any data to any place - It uses an Excel import of data.  In fact, it doesn't even provide the Excel source file that it derives from (that I can tell).  So, I'm actually wondering how you customized it without that source.

From what I see in the App, it gathers responses from the screens, but does nothing with it at the end.

It is really more of a "show case" App than a functional App.

So, if you really want to do something, you need to connect to some data source that you can write to and store the Responsecollect Collection that it gathers through the process.

Hope that gives you some place to start.
