Windows 10 / Microsoft Store / PowerApp app - How to download an attachment

So i've built a canvas app that updates a Sharepoint List. It's an app for submitting print requests to a print department. The app collects data like jobname, billto, duedate, status, numberofpages in the document, number of copies needed...... It also has an option to attach files. The app works like a charm when using the app from any web browser or from an iphone using the PowerApp from the apple app store. You can submit a new print request and attach documents to the print request that need to be printed from either a web browser or from the apple PowerApp app and it works flawlessly. The trouble i'm having is this. You can download an app from the Microsoft Store called PowerApp and it has the same image logo of PowerApps. You sign in to it with your office 365 account. The print request app is available to use, and for the most part it works fine. A problem arrises though when a user wants to download a document that was attached to a print request. For some reason it won't download the document using the microsoft store PowerApp app. Is this just a normal problem with the Microsoft Store PowerApp app? Do i need to set a specfic setting for the attachment control? Is this a bug? Again, I can download previously attached documents to a print request from either any web browser or from the iPhone PowerApp app (and probably an Android PowerApp app), but i can't download the same document from the Microsoft Store PowerApp app.

    Hi @SeanTambling ,

Firstly, what you are talking about is PowerApps Desktop.

Actually, PowerApps Desktop hasn't relased new version for a long time.

So it may not support many functions (especially new functions).

I've made a similar test about downloading attachments and met the same problem like your description.

In website and mobile device, it could work.

However, in PowerApps desktop, it will not work.

The error message is like this, am I right?

I've reported this problem to our product team, if there's any reply, I will leave my message here.

What's more, I suggest you use PowerApps website.

We are mainly developing website PowerApps.

    Best regards,

Thank you for your reply! I didn't get the same error you got, but that's ok. My main problem was that I couldn't down load the attachments from the PowerApps Desktop app. The same attachments down load fine from every browser and from all mobile PowerApp apps. Thanks for reporting it. I know the browsers work fine, I just like the look and feel of the Desktop app and was hoping to use it.

    Take care,

    Sean
