Keep list in PowerPages up to date with changes in table

Hello!

I have a form and a list on my PowerPages app. I am facing a bit of an issue with the list, as it does not automatically sync with the database when a change is made to the row. The reason this is a problem, is because it displays rows that is added to the table with Power Automate after the form is submitted. These changes will not be displayed until I sync the page.

The row will be displayed when I sync the Power Pages manually, but is there a way to make sure it automatically syncs whenever there is a change in the table?

The table is a custom Dataverse table, and the "Track changes" option is activated for the table.

The issue is due to how Microsoft have implemented the Portal Cache, the SLA on the cache from Dataverse to the cache is 15mins (but usually occurs within a couple of minutes) - and its by design.

If your list is for the same records as the record you are updating via flow (not another associated table), then use a realtime Workflow or Plugin.  (except for the specific Power Pages Flow that can be called via javascript) Flow for  the Dataverse connector is asynchonous (background) as such its updates/creates are not part of the create/update transaction when the submit button is pressed (whereas realtime is).

    Hi @Fubar!

I had a feeling that was the case, and waiting for the page to sync is not the end of the world, but an asynchronous approach would be awesome.

I am not very familiar with Workflows or Plugins. How would I go about adding one to a asynchronously update the list?

The reason I need to go through the flow, is because I want the user to send one form, and then make rows in one two or three tables depending on what they insert. The user has the option to send wishes of companies they want to meet, as well as sending a list of companies they prefer not to meet, and companies they really want to meet.

I have a table called wishes that gets the submits, then it creates a new row for each wish, as well as a new row in anti-wish and priority table for each company selected for both of those. Then it deletes the initial row, as it is not really needed anymore.

Can I still use the Power Automate flow, but do some magic with a Workflow, or will I have to rebuild my in entire process?

'Synchronous' (i.e. realtime) is what you need - but depending on exactly what you are doing you can have the same issue.

Realtime Workflow/Plugin will work for the main record e.g. you have a list, open a record on that list, edit it, and then needed to do something like calculate a value and update the main record - in this scenario realtime plugin/workflow the data will be available on the portal straight away via Flow it won't.

Where the realtime is working with records that are not the main record (e.g. updating child records of the main record), those updates are still subject to the cache issue.

    @Fubar

So that makes me think I will have that issue either way..

I have a form for my "Wishes" table. This form includes three multiple choice dropdowns, as that was the only way I could figure out how to do multiple choice of companies. The labels for each of them is a company name, and the value is an ID, which can also be found in a column in the Accounts table, connecting the account to the choice.

The form submits to the Wishes table, and contains a list of IDs in "Wishes", "Priority wishes" and "Antiwishes" choices columns. When a row is added, it triggers a flow that goes through these three lists, finds the Account connected to each of the IDs and creates a new row in "Antiwishes", "Priority wishes" and "Wishes" table for each one. Then it deletes the initial row in the Wishes table. Could probably have made a separate table to take the submits, but the problem still stands.

I have lists for each of these three tables in my Power Pages, and would love to see the records in the lists as soon as the flow is done and the rows are added to the table.
