Error 0x80040203 importing solution: Specified argument was out of the range of valid values. Parameter name: Default picklist value has to be one of the option values.

I am unable to export/import my solution from Dev to Test environments. The error report lists the following error against the Contact Table:

Error 0x80040203: Specified argument was out of the range of valid values. Parameter name: Default picklist value has to be one of the option values.

I had modified the table fairly extensively introducing many new choice fields, but have checked all of these I can't find any errant default values. I have copied the solution to a new environment and tried removing fields with custom choices but same result.

Any suggestions?

Thanks for responding.

I have successfully deployed to Test now, and anticipate no problem deploying to Prod. The problem actually lay in some custom choice fields I created in the App initially before I added it to a solution. This was my first App, so I have been learning along the way and didn't begin with a solution, but created one subsequently and added the App to the solution. The result was that global choices I created for these fields were not present in the app and had to be imported, although the solution checker picked these up before I exported. The other change I made which also may have contributed to success was to add nominate a default choice for all choice type fields. For some this meant adding a 'Please select' option as default so that I wasn't pre-empting the user's choice. This is fine for optional fields but not the best solution for required choice fields.

Not sure which of these two changes resolved the problem. The error log is not very helpful as it does not specify the problematic field(s), just the table.
