Modern Date Picker Control displays a Value in DisplayMode.View

My modern Datepicker Control is showing a Value in Display Mode View, even though the Selected Date Property is blank and was reset before. 
 
Is this a bug , or can some help me with this? Thank you
 
the problem also occurs when i put 
If(IsBlank(varItem.Startdatum),Blank(),varItem.Startdatum)

    Firstly you have varItem2 in that control, but if you put this on a Label 
    varItem.Startdatum
    what value do you see ?
