Comparing dates

Hi everyone. I have problem with comparing two dates in Filter function. My data source is sql and in one table i have a column which specify a beginning date. I want to see only items with date bigger(newer) than let's say 2019.01.01. My part of formula is

"beginningDate > Year(2019,1,1). I got this error message: "Service call was successful. However, there was a problem processing the server response. Please refresh your data source and republish the app". I followed the suggested tips but they didnt help. Do you have any suggestion or solutions i can possibly use?

I am not a SQL expert but many times a date will be stored as plain-text in SQL.  Plain-text cannot be compared to a date data type.  What happens if you convert it to a date value?

    DateValue(beginningDate) > Year(2019,1,1)

Were you able to find what was causing the issue? I started to get the same error message today. I am using a view.

I noticed that if I do not use a filter paramerter. The issue disappears.

    I'm using the following formula:

    Filter(view, created_by_email = varUserEmail)

    I just fixed my issue.

I had updated the data type of one of my columns. Even though the view is still selecting the same column name, I guess the data type change through off PowerApps. I changed it form datetimeoffset to datetime2.

I altered the view with the same view and the issue went away.

Regarding your issue, there may be some incompatibility between the data type the connection is pulling and what is actually in the table. If it is not a view, I would disconnect and reconnect to see if it works or change the parameter data type as suggested above.
