Hello, Really need some assistance to solve a final step in the powerapp game I created. I have multiple screens which guests will be going through with the app, and I did not want them to input their name multiple times on the screens to track their responses to trivia questions. Note that the data flows into an excel files which I made to have 1 table per series of questions. This just made the creation of the app quite quick. However even though I can get the name to appear on the various screens in the app, I cannot get that name to come out into the excel output. How can I get this one label field to exit with the other responses on a screen? On the Form I have: DefaultMode = FormMode.Edit Item = Defaults(Technology) DataSource = Technology On the Submit button I have: OnSelect = Navigate(Welcome,ScreenTransition.Cover);SubmitForm(Technology_Form) On the Name DataCard I have: Default = ThisItem.NameTech DisplayMode = DisplayMode.Edit On the Name Label DataCardValue I have: Text = DataCardValue4.Text DisplayMode = Parent.DisplayMode

Can you confirm what is the value in the Update property of the datacards? If the Update value is blank, then it will not save the value, it should point to the control where you have the Name value.

    Hope this Helps!

    Hello @yashag2255 ,

Thanks for your help but I cannot seem to find a field called value on the datacard.  Could you refer to the screenshot and let me if I am missing something?

Can you select Name_DataCard4 card from the Tree view and select "Update" in the property dropdown on the top left? Whatever value is passed in Update property is saved in datasource. It should be DataCardValue8.Text.

    Hope this Helps!

    Hello,

There is no Update option from the list.  Do I need to modify the field type or anything else to get this option?

    Hi @michall3

Is this an edit form or Display Form? If this is a display form, then it cannot be submitted. If this is an edit form have you added a custom datacard? If you have added a custom datacard, then you have to remove it and add one datacard using Add Fields, those have an Update property. Can you share a little information how you are trying to save the results and if you are getting any errors?

    Hope this Helps!

I carried out a test on my end and can you follow the below steps?

    1) Select the form and expand the Title Field.

    2) Select the Control Type to "Edit text".

    3) Now, you should see the Update property. Make sure that it is DataCardValue8.Text

    4) Try to save the details again.

    Hope this Helps!

    Hi @yashag2255 ,

Thanks for your help.  I can confirm that the form is an Edit Form.

The datacard which was selected is a Label.  It is not a custom card.
