Dropdown list selection disappears after selection and does not appear in the SharePoint list

I am creating a Power Apps custom form and I have dropdown list control on the form. When I select a value from the dropdown list it displays in box initially but then disappears when I go to another field. And the selected value does not appear in the corresponding SharePoint list. Any help to resolve this would be appreciated!

I have created a Power Apps custom form that contains a dropdown field that contains 2 choices ("ACCEPT", "REJECT"). When I test the code within Power Apps using the Alt key, I can select a value and it is shown as my selection. However, if I open an item from the SharePoint list I can select a value from the dropdown field but as soon as I click on the Save button, my selection in the dropdown dropdown field disappears and the field is not updated in the SharePoint list.

okay since you've said its a custom form, in order to know whats happening why it isnt updating your sharepoint list, can you tell us how you save? Is it via manually patching or using a SubmitForm ?

Can you also tell us the items property formula you have for your dropdown?

these 2 might be the one you need to look at. Also is your custom form have dynamic FormMode ? I believe I have encountered this before where the choices are blank because the FormMode is on edit mode, not entirely sure.
Do you reset the form upon submission? If you reset it , it will return to its defaultmode check the OnSuccess, OnReset, OnFailure property of your form.
