Cannot create first Power Platform Pipeline

I'm trying to explore Power Platform Pipelines using this guide, but I can't even seem to get the basics right.

In my Development environment, Power Apps page, I don't see Create Pipeline on the command bar as the article suggests.

If I select Solutions instead, I do see a Pipelines link on the left and Create Pipeline at the top. Great.

But if I Create Pipeline, I get 'No environments found. Please try again later' for Target Environment. I have a Production environment which I have set to Managed using PowerApps Admin, and both source and target environments have dataverse databases. As I understand it these are the only requirements for making Pipelines work.

What am I doing wrong? Is there a switch somewhere I need to enable?

Really looking forward to getting into Pipelines after loads of grief doing things manually - but I can't even get started!!

I have the same question (0)

    Hi,

    what security roles do you have in both environments?

    @JonathanGibbs

    Personal pipelines can't be shared with other users.

    If you are already an admin, try using the Custom host, not the platform host.

    @AlbertoCastro   Ah, perhaps that's it..

    I have Environment Maker, System Administrator, Basic User

    in  Production and

    System Administrator, Basic User

    in Development. And Global Admin in EntraID.

    The guide says

    • You must have a Power Platform administrator or Dataverse system administrator role to install the pipelines application.

    I can't see either of these role titles available in Power Apps Admin - [me as user] - Manage Roles. Should I be looking in a different admin space? Does 'System Administrator' not cover it?

    No no, if you are System Admin in both environments and Global Admin, you are GOD 😃
    Firstly, to confirm, are you trying to configure a Personal pipeline, yeah?

    Can you share a screenshot with the option that you cannot see?

    @AlbertoCastro Yes, trying to configure a personal pipeline

    PowerApps apps list page - no 'Create Pipeline' option:

    Open an individual Solution, get a Pipelines button:

    Select the Pipelines button, then Create pipeline:

    'No [target] environments found'. But my Production environment is in same region and marked Managed:

    ???!

    @AlbertoCastro OK, cancel this - I think I've gone wrong in the whole Add Deployment Environment process, where I've been using existing environments rather than creating new, as in the instructions.

    I'm going to start again with new environments, then use the old export canvas app process (which I know works!) to copy my materials into a new Dev environment and start again..
