I'm trying out the Image column type for my model-driven app. I want to be able to submit a photo from my tablet (in this case an iPad). However I'm facing two issues:1. The image is severely compressed when uploaded. Is there a way to control the image quality? Max size is set quite high.
2. When I want to view the image again on the iPad and I press on the "Open"-button it will just open a dialog box saying "Opening image on device." - the full image is never shown.
Hi @Anonymous ,
Where are you storing the photos - we have done about 40k photos in the last year or so on iPads and use SharePoint Libraries. I have a blog on the process with the various options if this is useful to you.
Please click Accept as solution if my post helped you solve your issue. This will help others find it more readily. It also closes the item. If the content was useful in other ways, please consider giving it Thumbs Up.
Hi @WarrenBelz
Thanks for the link but I guess it is very specific to canvas apps right? We are using a model-driven and just the out-of-the-box options (image column, unified interface etc.) to store the images in Dataverse.
@Anonymous ,
Yes, Canvas apps and SharePoint. Sometimes the simple things work best . . .
I came across https://powerusers.microsoft.com/t5/Microsoft-Dataverse/Dataverse-to-store-images-from-PowerApps/td-p/816608 and I learned about the setting in the app. However it still compresses the image to a noticeable degree.
Still not sure why the 'Open' button doesn't work.
Sorry, cannot assist you on this - Libraries store the photos in their native format (jpg), so viewing is not an issue.
No problem - I appreciate your input!
